Description
Patience is a virtue, so it is said, and yes, photography has made me a more patient person. It was patience on this day that paid off getting this shot.
Mr Elusive as I call him, was so good at moving around in the tree, either partially hidden by leaves or bigger branches. Several photographs he was simply a silhouette because he was staying in the shadows.
Mr Elusive is a Cedar Waxwing, noted for that identifiable crest and the black mask around his eyes. Other identifiable markings that are not easily seen in this photograph is the yellow-tipped tail feathers and some bright red tips on a few of the wing tips.
I made this photograph in North Platte, Nebraska not far from the South Platte River in late May 2013.
