Description
Driving down a Nebraska county road I came across something that seemed a little odd at the time, so I stopped and took a closer look. The fine strands of hair were waving in the slight breeze from the barb wire fence that runs parallel to the county road. The sun was getting low in the west and highlighting the waving hair. I discovered that the hair was from the tails of cattle. I suspect they were standing close to the barb wire fence and waving their tails in an attempt to fight off the pesky flies in the warm summer months. I could easily see that there were tail hairs from several different breeds, some were white, some off-white and some black. As unique as this is, the low sun highlighting the flowing hairs and creating a bright glint on the steel barb wires really got my attention.
This photograph is also available in black-and-white. See my collection titled Agricultural Farming and Ranch Art.
