Product Details

Our greeting cards are 5" x 7" in size and are produced on digital offset printers using 100 lb. paper stock. Each card is coated with a UV protectant on the outside surface which produces a semi-gloss finish. The inside of each card has a matte white finish and can be customized with your own message up to 500 characters in length. Each card comes with a white envelope for mailing or gift giving.

Artist's Description

I love the American flag, and I love how Union Pacific Railroad has a large reflective full-color graphic of the American flag installed on both sides of their locomotives. I never measured one of those graphics when I worked for Union Pacific but I would guess it measures 5 to 6 feet vertically. It really gets your attention. Again, I love the American flag.

If it is night time and you find yourself at a railroad crossing waiting for a train, your headlights hit that reflective graphic and it lights up in full color and looks awesome.

I made this photograph in Bailey Yard at North Platte, Nebraska. Bailey Yard is the world's largest railroad classification yard, it is huge and well worth seeing if you find yourself near North Platte. You can visit the Golden Spike Tower and Visitor Center located adjacent to the railroad. The Golden Spike Tower was designed to resemble a railroad spike and has a gift shop on the ground floor. Interested in photography since my high school years in the late 60’s, I finally purchased a Nikon SLR in the late 70’s and wasn’t long until I started selling my work. In 1970 I began my electrical career and continued to mix photography into my daily travels. With my successful electrical career coming to a close with retirement in mind, I won’t be one of those persons that retire and wonder what they will do with the rest of their lives. I am sure that I will stay very active with my photography. Photography has blessed me in so many ways, and I continue to be in awe of God’s wonderful work with this beautiful world we live in.
