Artist's Description

This night in early April 2017 had been witness to severe thunderstorms rolling through several midwest states including Nebraska where this photograph was made. Looking at the tail end of the storm clouds as they continued their way to the northeast, still putting out lots of movement and lightning. The moon was up when I made this photograph and close to being a full moon, which explains the nice brilliance on the upper level clouds, and as you can see, above the clouds the stars are shining bright. I was fortunate to capture some nice cloud-to-cloud lightning, which was happening several times a minute.

You can look at the clouds and see the movement, which happened during the twenty (20) second long exposure.

The high voltage transmission tower is in silhouette against the well illuminated clouds about 10 miles north of Wallace, Nebraska.

About Bill Kesler

Bill Kesler

I am sure that I will stay very active with my photography. Photography has blessed me in so many ways, and I continue to be in awe of God’s wonderful work with this beautiful world we live in. In 1967 country music’s Song of the Year was “It’s Such A Pretty World Today”, performed by the...
