Star Trails - Monument Rocks metal print by Bill Kesler. Bring your artwork to life with the stylish lines and added depth of a metal print. Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. The high gloss of the aluminum sheet complements the rich colors of any image to produce stunning results.

Natural illumination from a full moon allows this long exposure to bring out the details in the chalk formations at Monument Rocks. I took eighty-eight (88) long exposures and stacked them in the post-processing to form the star trails. This photograph is also available in black-and-white in my gallery titled Astrophotography.
People say Kansas is flat. No argument here. Monument Rocks has been named one of the 8 Wonders of Kansas and again, no argument here. Monument Rocks was the first named U.S. National Natural Landmark by the U.S. Department of the Interior back in 1968. Also known as Chalk Pyramids, these unique formations reach a height of 70 ft. and include such formations as buttes and arches. Rich in fossils, they were formed an estimated 80 million years ago.

About Bill Kesler
Interested in photography since my high school years in the late 60’s, I finally purchased a Nikon SLR in the late 70’s and wasn’t long until I started selling my work. In 1970 I began my electrical career and continued to mix photography into my daily travels. With my successful electrical career coming to a close with retirement in mind, I won’t be one of those persons that retire and wonder what they will do with the rest of their lives. I am sure that I will stay very active with my photography. Photography has blessed me in so many ways, and I continue to be in awe of God’s wonderful work with this beautiful world we live in.
