Description
The month was October, the year 2014, and the day was the 7th. We experienced a full moonrise at about the same time as the sun was setting. What was left of the Golden Hour was washing lots of warm light on the west sides of the chalk pyramids, also known as Monument Rocks.
With my camera facing east I was prepared to capture the full moonrise in the large arch on one of the formations. I thought the clouds off in the eastern horizon might alter my plans, but the moon did rise in time.
Monument Rocks is located in Kansas, about 20 miles south and 7 miles east of Oakley, KS.
