Artist's Description
The phrase "Like Father Like Son" is often used to convey the message that kids will do like their parents, and in this case, the adolescent Turkey Vulture (on the right) is doing like the adult Turkey Vulture (on the left). And I must add that I do not know the sexes of the vultures in this photograph, but the phrase seem to fit.
On a cool October morning shortly after the sunrise, Turkey Vultures are seen perched on a gate with their wings spread. The vultures do this to get more body part surfaces exposed to the warm sun.
On this particular morning, there were dozens of Turkey Vultures sitting on the multiple fence posts and this gate - all with their wings spread out. They would stay in this position for several minutes at a time, only moving their head from one direction to the other. It was quite the sight.

About Bill Kesler
Interested in photography since my high school years in the late 60’s, I finally purchased a Nikon SLR in the late 70’s and wasn’t long until I started selling my work. I am sure that I will stay very active with my photography. Photography has blessed me in so many ways, and I continue to be in awe of God’s wonderful work with this beautiful world we live in. In 1967 country music’s Song of the Year was “It’s Such A Pretty World Today”, performed by the...
