Description
North Platte, Nebraska is a railroad town and home to Union Pacific's Bailey Yard - the world's largest railroad classification yard. To accommodate the thousands of railfans that want to see this huge yard, the Golden Spike Tower and Visitor Center was constructed adjacent to Bailey Yard. Designed to resemble a railroad spike, the structure offers an open-air viewing deck at the 7th floor and an enclosed 360-degree view on the 8th floor.
I made this photograph on the morning of September 11, 2015, whereas I took eleven (11) exposures and blended them in the post-processing to obtain this unique look. A look that I call a "cloudstack". You can see more of my "cloudstack" work in my gallery titled "The Cloudstack Collection".
