Artist's Description

This snowy egret is seen here perched on a fallen tree while giving his/her feathers a good shaking, or fluffing. The distinctive yellow feet are covered in mud after his/her fishing adventure in a backwater section of the Rio Grande River.

I made this photograph at the Bosque Del Apache National Wildlife Refuge near Socorro, New Mexico.

Interested in photography since my high school years in the late 60’s, I finally purchased a Nikon SLR in the late 70’s and wasn’t long until I started selling my work. In 1970 I began my electrical career and continued to mix photography into my daily travels. With my successful electrical career coming to a close with retirement in mind, I won’t be one of those persons that retire and wonder what they will do with the rest of their lives.
