Artist's Description

An artistic look at a damaged road sign from a single bullet hole. This sign is made of aluminum with reflective vinyl markings. In this case, the sign has slanted yellow and black stripes and is at the entry to a bridge which crosses a canal.

The bullet hole looks to me to be evenly divided on the yellow as well as the black, and I can't help but wonder if that is what the shooter was aiming for.

Looking at the artistic side of this, I am intrigued by the intricate cracks to the vinyl from the stress of the bullet hitting and penetrating the aluminum sign blank. Look at the small concentric cracks that radiate from the bullet hole, how unique.

Please note that I do not condone making road signs a target and used for target practice. Nor am I against guns in general.

About Bill Kesler

Bill Kesler

Interested in photography since my high school years in the late 60’s, I finally purchased a Nikon SLR in the late 70’s and wasn’t long until I started selling my work. I am sure that I will stay very active with my photography. Photography has blessed me in so many ways, and I continue to be in awe of God’s wonderful work with this beautiful world we live in. In 1967 country music’s Song of the Year was “It’s Such A Pretty World Today”, performed by the...
