Finding a Nebraska lake to be frozen over in February is not uncommon. February 2015 was no different. However, early in the month, warm temperatures caused an early thaw. The winds pushed the ice ashore as seen here at Lake McConaughy, north of Ogallala, Nebraska. The pile of ice on the right side is a little over 6'-0" in height. Lake McConaughy is Nebraska's largest lake.
The gorgeous sunrise really adds "the mood" to this unique display of nature.

I am sure that I will stay very active with my photography. Photography has blessed me in so many ways, and I continue to be in awe of God’s wonderful work with this beautiful world we live in. In 1967 country music’s Song of the Year was “It’s Such A Pretty World Today”, performed by the...

Such a gorgeous artistic photograph. I tend to prefer sunsets where you don't see the actual sun and images like this are the reason why. This is incredibly serene and beautiful! :-) Maggie
