Description
This photograph is the result of a strange "chain of events".
On a lonely rural road is a caution sign that says "Blind Curve". At some point in time, a person comes along with a gun/rifle and decides to make the sign a target, and successfully hits the sign numerous times. At some time after the successful target practice, a photographer with a tripod and camera comes along and sees that the sign has some photographic qualities to it, and makes several photographs of it.
For this photograph, I cropped it tight to focus on one unique bullet hole. This bullet hole was fired into the front surface, and as the bullet burst through the aluminum sign blank, it makes a unique shape.
I suspect the bullet was fired at an angle to the front surface, and it resulted in the oblong hole, which I immediately envisioned as an "eye". Maybe you see the irony of it - that is, a sign that says "Blind Curve" now has an "eye".
Please note that I do not condone making road signs a target and used for target practice. Nor am I against guns in general.
