Artist's Description

What's your angle? Maybe you've heard that question before. Whatever angle you might have in mind, it might just be in this unique photograph.

In this entire photograph - edge-to-edge, top-to-bottom - there isn't a straight line neither vertically or horizontally. All straight lines are on an odd angle.

This is a photograph showing a section of a high voltage transmission tower, with all the cross bracing. In the upper half you will find a parallel set of glass insulators for one of the phases of the high voltage circuit.

These structures are often seen making their way across our landscapes providing electricity to consumers. Constructed of galvanized angle iron, and usually stand typically about one-hundred feet in height. If you look close at one of the connection plates you will see that all the bolts and nuts have a locking nut added to keep the connection tight. The structure is subjected to expansion and contraction from hot and cold temperatures...

Interested in photography since my high school years in the late 60’s, I finally purchased a Nikon SLR in the late 70’s and wasn’t long until I started selling my work. In 1970 I began my electrical career and continued to mix photography into my daily travels. With my successful electrical career coming to a close with retirement in mind, I won’t be one of those persons that retire and wonder what they will do with the rest of their lives. I am sure that I will stay very active with my photography. Photography has blessed me in so many ways, and I continue to be in awe of God’s wonderful work with this beautiful world we live in.
