UP 6549 is seen here as a Distributive Power Unit (DPU) on an eastbound coal train west of North Platte, Nebraska.

UP 6549, a General Electric model C44ACCTE diesel electric locomotive, rated at 4,400 gross horsepower, utilizing six (6) AC traction motors.

Interested in photography since my high school years in the late 60’s, I finally purchased a Nikon SLR in the late 70’s and wasn’t long until I started selling my work. In 1970 I began my electrical career and continued to mix photography into my daily travels. With my successful electrical career coming to a close with retirement in mind, I won’t be one of those persons that retire and wonder what they will do with the rest of their lives.
