Description
We've all seen high voltage transmission lines dotting our landscape with their steel structure support towers as they bring or send power for our many uses. Not so common of a sight is when two circuits cross each other.
In this photograph the steel structure in the foreground is being routed north-and-south while the other structures in the background is being routed east-and-west.
The circuit in the foreground has parallel conductors, indicating that the circuit is heavily loaded. Based on the size of the glass insulators, I would estimate that the parallel circuit has a voltage of several hundred thousand volts.
This photograph was made a few miles southeast of North Platte, Nebraska. I applied an HDR filter to enhance the dynamic range.
